Ok I want to warn all of you out there right now, I am not a fan of Final Fantasy 7, but I will make this review as unbaised as I can possibly make it so if I start to put some hate stuff were it shouldn't, you can shoot me later. Please understand that I do not hate anyone who is a fan of the game, just realize that I will probably poke fun of you until the day you die, but please realize I do not hate anyone who likes the game, I just do not like the game itself. Those reasons may come up in this review but please please please understand this is what I think of the game and I will play both sides in this review, I promise!

I am kinda cheating my wy out of my monthly gaming review on this, it isn't technically a game but it did come from one so I will play with the idea a bit. The movie (and I will not put spoilers in here for you) takes place 2 years after the end of the game. So in order for you to actually understand any of the movie at all you need to play the game. Sephiroth is dead, and well he now has a bit of a cult following him, looking for their "Mother" who ultimatly is Jenova (duh...EVERYONE HAS A DAMN MOTHER COMPLEX NOW!!! WHAT THE HELL!?). Now, I saw this movie with subtitles, no English, and you know what I can't even think of when we Americans will get it. Anyhow, to start off on the reason I absolutly hated this movie. I hated FF7, and I always will now, mainly because the movie ruined it for me. I saw this movie because I am a Final Fantasy fan and I will try everything at least once with this, or at least learn everything I can about it. Now I am gonna rant for a little while on why I hate the game. It was a game to make money, and it is proven, it was the highest selling game...reason for this is because it took a sterotypical genre of characters from different genres of anime. I will prove this. *LegendaryMaxxx and I talked about this, he brought it up and I agree with him so I will state it here. Each character was a sterotypical character from other animes...Cloud: He is the main hero of the story with the gravity defying hair and the weapon that defies all physics in any way, shape, and form. Tifa: She is the big breasted brawler, big boobs and LOVES to hit people...sound familiar? Barrett: The character that talks big and says he can do everythign in which he actually can't, you guys know what I am talking about and I know for all anime fans you HAVE seen this character at some point or another. Yuffie: The overly hyper character who could end up hurting herself because she is so hyper...this is a typical sterotype. Vincent: Now I don't wanna hear "OMG VINCENT IS LIKE SO KEWL!" No....He's Mr. Happy....I mean the typical depressive character who doesn't even TRY to make himself happy. I don't want the "But he has every reason to be depressive!" He doesn't...and since when do Vampire carry guns? Nanaki aka Red XIII: The fantasy creature. The tallking dog, whatever you wanna call him. He is my favorite because he is so cool (don't start with the "BUT YOU HATED 7" I did...but I liked some of the characters thank you). Cait Sith: The eccentric fortune teller...the psychic, every anime has to have one of these! Cid: The eccentric Inventor....come one now...think about it... Sephiroth: I DO NOT WANT ANY COMMENTS ON HOW COOL HE IS....I get it all the damn time, let me state my case on this...he is the one who decided "I am so angry at everyone for hurting my already dead mother who isn't really my mother but I am gonna call her that anyway, and throw a GIANT ROCK at the world to solve everything..." Mother complex anyone? I don't wanna go into Sephiroth (and I WILL NOT EVER Call him "Sephy-sama" GOT THAT!?) because his character is so damn retarted...Aeris Almost forgot about here...there's not much to say about her, other than she is the sweet character that DIES because everyone is so damn PATHETIC and CAN'T EVEN BOTHER THINKING TO USE A DAMN PHOENIX DOWN to save her...I rest my case...

I know I got a lot of you people pissed off right now, but hear me out I WILL get to parts you WILL like...trust me. I'm just not done ranting about how much this game and movie piss the ever loving hell out of me. The game was a commercial...that was it. Those of us who have common sense have seen this. I am not saying you can't like this if you an avid FF Fan...I'm just saying take a look...The movie was the same thing as the game in my point of view...and I will keep that view for a while. Yes I have the movie saved on my computer, there were some aspects of it that I loved. I will get into those later. A lot of what I was ranting about about the characters, the same thing is in the movie, so it was a bit disapointing. Now...I like some of the aspects of the movie...The graphics were amazing, YAY, I enjoyed the graphics A lot...the same were used to make Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and that was a good movie. The Music...Because it was all done by Nabuo Uematsu...and he is GOD. Most of it was taken from the game and the Black Mages Albums, but thats ok, because he did it all! Anyhow, to continue, the voice acting was great! Then again it was in Japanese and they ALWAYS do a good job ^__^ Thats why I love them. I can't wait to see the horrendus job when it gets dubbed...I might shoot myself again and again. The Action Sequences were AMAZING, I loved those...They were good and I was kept enthralled with it the whole time.

Now as I promised, I will talk about the good things about this movie. I hate doing it, but If I were a Final Fantasy 7 fan, this is what I would say. Those of you who are fans of the game, go and see it, you will be happy with it all. It does take place 2 years after the end of the game, you see familiar faces through the whole thing, even SOME surprises, and I won't tell you what. Now my brotheris a big fan of 7, I have no problems with people who are fans of the game, thats you choice, and if I was, well maybe I would love this movie. The characters stayed the same, so you will enjoy those. There is a kind of a cult following for Sephiroth for all you Sephiroth fans out there, but there is a reason for it...and it's in the movie. Some of the disapointing factors of this is the you don't get to see much of the characters, onl Cloud and Tifa 90% of the time, even little Marlene is in there (and I actually did like her). Cid, Nanaki, Cait Sith, Yuffie, Vincent, and Barret won't show up for a while and they don't have a very big part in the movie, but its ok...they DO make an appearance. There are a lot of cameos in there and I won't list them all, but one of them is the best and that is the Victory Fan Fare...yes it is in there and I won't tell you where, I thought that was kinda cool. Like I said before, anyone who is a fan of Final Fantasy 7 will Love this movie. But if you don't like FF7 or didn't understand it, just as a warning don't bother unles you wanna count how many of your brain cells actually die.

I will apologize now for anyone who is angry with me in anyway, I'm sorry. This is what I wanted to do and I stated my case before hand, but as I promise to those of you who did like the game, I gave you what you wanted. Now in order to actually get this, you have to DL this off a bit torrent of somesort. I got mine from someone who burned it to a disc for a friend and she let me borrow it. All in all it was an ok movie, I kinda enjoyed it from points and stuff but I don't like 7 and I hate it more now than I did...this to me...was a fan movie for people who are fans of the games. So enjoy it if you are a fan!
